Jeroen Olyslaegers

Jeroen Olyslaegers (Mortsel, 1967) studied Germanic languages at the University of Antwerp. After his study, he worked as a researcher for the Louis Paul Boon documentation centre (1989-1992). He continued his career working for several organisations and festivals in the field of literature and cinema. Olyslaegers wrote as a film critic for Humo and as a columnist for Studio Brussel, VPRO, IKON and Radio Klara. He published the novels Navel (Bellybutton) (1994), Open gelijk een mond (Open like a mouth) (1999), Wij (We) (2009) and the collection of short stories Il faut manger (One has to eat) (1996). His prose was published in several literary magazines and he made several theatre productions, amongst others for KVS and NTGent. For deBuren he wrote the Radio Book 'God is quick to punish' and the citybooks.
